New York City is arguably one of the best cities in the world and for those who live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, it really is the best place in the world, but their high society ridden lives are filled with scandal,gossip and secrets. In a world where status and money is everything, most will do anything to keep what they have theirs. The Andersons and the Jamesons have been feuding for years, they were once the best of friends but an unknown event caused a divide between the families. All the important families took sides. Good families like the Eylses stuck with the Andersons while the Vanderbilts sided with the Jamesons.

Johnny is the Upper East Side rebel, he always went against his parent’s wishes and did as he pleased. His father died when he was 17, leaving Johnny with this hotel business, one he could only access once he turned 18. Johnny went from having no responsibilities to CEO of his father’s business and he had to uphold his legacy. His mother is a socialite, she only cares about social standing and how their family looks to other people. This pressure placed on Johnny was against his rebellious nature, he had to suddenly wear suits and attend board meetings. He entertained himself by going to strip clubs and enjoying all the luxuries his world had to offer him. He only had one best friend, his cousin Carter Van Der Bilt, he never trusted anyone but Carter. Johnny sometimes drinks to forget about his problems, the vice president of the company is trying to take him down and prove that Johnny is unfit to run Russe Hotels, this makes Johnny turn to an old family friend Ross Jameson for help because he has heard rumors that The Jamesons know how to get what they want by using any means necessary, even if it’s illegal.

Johnny feels like his company is the only thing he can hold onto, that is until he met Isabella Van Buren (Shenae Grimes) to make his mother happy he agreed to meet with a friend’s daughter. He was expecting Isabella to be boring and  uptight, Upper East Side girl, but instead he met Isabella, who turned out to be the daughter of rock star Flo Van Buren. They bonded over their mutual dislike of pushy, society mothers. They have become very close, Johnny has always kept girls at arms length, but Isabella makes him want to take a risk. They’re very good friends, but his competitors might play dirty and try to get Isabella away from him if he lets anyone know how much she truly means to him. Johnny is a rebellious, bad ass with a secret heart of gold.
